#RandomRant

Nostalgia (I seem to use that word a lot) has hit me pretty hard in the form of suede and leather bomber jackets, endless nights of watching 80's and 90's classics while silently debating whether or not Molly Ringwald is done any justice by the likes of Jennifer Love Hewitt, Alicia Silverstone and Jaime Pressly. It's finally hit me that music, movies and basically pop culture as we know it will never be the same!!! EEEEEK!

It is in this desperate time that I realise the importance of archiving, for I now find myself being engulfed by a pool of old-school tunes, groupie t-shirts, moves reminiscent of yesteryear and quoting the many wise words of our musical predecessors, much like the lyrics to "Love is a Battlefield" by Pat Benatar

I feel oh-so-silly because I wasn't even alive in the 80's and so my constant lamenting of a time before my time is almost unjustifiable. However in a time like today, situations have grown dire. I mean if i hear another song about the world ending, my ears will literally bleed!

I really wonder what will become of Pop Culture, even the so-called "Game Changers" of today can't help but steal something from before. There is nothing minimalistic about life today and so pushing the envelope can easily be seen as trying too hard. Perhaps back tracking isn't so bad after all.
