I'm not a huge fan of South African Idols and I literally can't stand to watch it beyond the first audition phase, primarily because I feel that the concentration is rather on gimmicks than it is on nurturing raw talent. I was however moved by two performances in particular; one by a guy named Freddie Van Dango and the other by a guy named Dave van Vuuren. Watching their performances really moved me as I find that it is rare to find people who still have that rawness...that profound appreciation for music and all that it represents.
