Bon La Bon
I'm a firm believer of music being just as rich as the soil on which we plonk our feet. I know I go on and on about music and it's underestimated sense of profoundness and all that jazz, but it is only because music is one of the 3 true loves of my life.
The day that I took a break from music was the day I lost a sense of self. It was all until I heard "Blood Bank" by Bon Iver, that I was pulled back into this realm of excessive bliss. Granted I first heard it a year after its inception, however it doesn't change how it made me feel.
Ever since then I've viewed Justin Vernon, the lead singer of Bon Iver, as a lyrical genius and dub him "He who emerged from ground" because of his immense soulful quality. His earlier work goes so far as to emphasize it, especially "Skinny Love", my absolute favourite, which was recorded in a cabin. Little things like that mean the world to me.
"Flume", "Lump Sum" and "For Emma" all remind me of "Into the Wild" for some odd reason. Perhaps because I affiliate them with Christopher McCandless aka Alexander Supertramp and his "Alaskan Odyssey" (very off topic I know).
Simply put, he's friggin' awesome.

Skinny Love - Bon Iver
A friend of mine showed me this clip and I fell so in love with it. It's a cover of Feist's "Intuition" done by a young lady named Anna Scouten. I don't know what it is about her covers but I am so enamoured by her voice. Listening to it sends me on a different trip every single time. It resonates from such a profound place. I hope you enjoy!

Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise
So my Sunday afternoon was spent venturing off into the sunset and snapping some really awesome pics of the scenic landscape that the Voortrekker Heritage site possesses. My friend Michelle (girl with the bowler hat) was my partner in crime for the day, check out her cool snaps on her blog www.smokethissxx.blogspot.com. Not only did I manage to score some cool photos, I also met a bunch of rad people which made the day even more awesome. Pure bliss. Sigh.
