The duffel bag; utilitarian or swag?

I feel like many a metro sexual man keep one of these bad boys at hand. It is strategically held down low so as to align with the ankle, or tossed over either shoulder, much like a knapsack.

My question is: "What goes in there?"

Don't Rain on My Parade

Whilst with a few friends, trying to get our way around Jozi  this past Saturday, we were stopped by a certain Marshall Gigolo. Totally unsuspecting of what was to happen next, we waited with great anticipation to cross the darn street. Only then did we recall that that particular Saturday was indeed the day of Joburg Pride.


Joburg Pride is an event that is dedicated to the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) community and thus goes about celebrating their orientation as well as their diversity. This is achieved with a parade/march in which people from all over, both homosexual and heterosexual, participate. Thereafter, is a huge jam, featuring a whole lot of performances by local music acts.

 As we realised that we were going to have to wait for a while, we hopped out of the car to get a few snaps. It was so wonderful to witness a strong sense of unison as masses of people strutted and swaggered along, together, standing up for what they believe in. Adorned in flamboyant costumes and sporting very innovative novelty T's, everyone had a little flavour to bring.

Thought

Sometimes you have to stand still to withstand the thrill that is the world. The oyster from which the pearl of eclecticism is spawned. For in the midst of the versatility that the population so desperately seeks, it is nothing but easy to lose yourself in the moment, in the music and in the madness.

So the reign of the Disco Pant is imminent! There's nothing much like testing the extent to which your stomach can swallow itself. Made iconic by pop cultural legends such as John Travolta and the Bee Gees, who then sported bootleg versions of these bad boys, The Disco Pant, (which I've only ever seen on the American Apparel website) is a sleek way of emphasising a woman's silhouette. It can be dressed up or dressed down without creating the whole crazy crotch effect that people fear. I really love 'em, they're very reminiscent of the ones that Sandra Dee (played by Olivia Newton-John) donned in Grease in the 70's. A true high waisted surprise!
